This guided tour in old Tallinn starts with a personal pick-up at the port/ your centrally located hotel for a journey of tales, legends and tastes of historic Tallinn. We will explore the quaint and lively lower old town brimming with the old, and above else, the medieval- from church spires to beer and marzipan.
We will begin with a transfer to Toompea Hill and cover the beautiful sights such as the Danish King’s Garden, Estonian Parliament, Nevsky Cathedral and Kohtuotsa viewing platform.
On our entertaining stroll we will also admire the The Great Guild Hall, completed in 1410 and experience the spirited Town Hall Square and one of the oldest continuously running pharmacies in Europe. We will also reward ourselves with sampling of some artisan Estonian brews, paired with savory snacks for a fulfilling experience.
Tallinn Old Town’s streets are far from straight with some exceptions of the St. Catherine’s Passage and The Wall street next to the medieval Town Wall, which lead us to the Viru Gates, where the tour comes to an end.
At the end of the tour, your guide will leave you with simple directions back to the cruise port which is about a 20 minute walk from the old town as well as suggest the best places to experience local food and buy authentic handicrafts.
Enjoy the rest of your day to do more sightseeing, shopping and dining before returning to the cruise port or your hotel.
