The contrast of modern atmosphere of the Finnish capital to the old worldliness of the Estonian capital city is instant, though for many locals Tallinn is almost like an extension to Helsinki.  Don´t miss it, set aside a day, take a relaxed ferry ride over to visit Tallinn, enjoy a private pick-up from the port and come discover Tallinn with our wonderfully passionate and experienced local guides.
After a comfortable ferry crossing we look forward to showcasing you the best of Tallinn during the next four hours. We will start by panoramic drive to the lovely Kadriorg Park & Palace area famously built by the Russian Czar Peter the Great. The lush green 300- year old park also offers seasonal treats of a rose garden, a picturesque Swan Pond and an insight to the modern day Estonian administration by the Presidential Chancellery.
Leaving the Kadriorg area with its colorful wooden houses behind, we will pay a visit to the most significant symbols to the Estonian nation- the Song Festival Grounds. Listed by UNESCO as one of the World`s most outstanding choral events, the venue effortlessly combines tradition with contemporary today. The journey continues to discover the typical architectural efforts from the Soviet era – typical block-buildings of the living quarters at Lasnamäe.
Before returning towards Old Town, we will also take a moment to see the 1980 Olympic Yachting Center complex offering wonderful views over the medieval and modern city.
During the walking tour of Old Town heart, we are surrounded by countless turrets, ancient walls and dwelling houses leading us back in time to the Hansa days, when merchants convened to this 800-year-old city.  Today, these invitingly charming cobbled streets make up one of the best preserved medieval environments in the world. Not only are there wonderful legends and stories to open up the past inside these historic walls, but numerous coffee shops and local design & handicraft boutiques in quaint courtyards you do not want to miss after the tour.
You will see our famous Dome Church which took over 2 centuries to complete and the opulent Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. There are the 15th century Gothic Town Hall in the Town Hall Square and the oldest continuously functioning pharmacy in the world, just to name a few. Your guide will reveal the rich colorful history and legends associated with each of these treasures. You will also have some free time to do some shopping or just relax.
Before strolling the streets of lower old town passage ways, a coffee break, 600-year-old pharmacy and Marzipan Room are on the list of our must-have stops.
After the tour comes to an end, your private tour guide is happy to give you a local’s insight into the best shopping and discoveries in Tallinn on your own and explain where the transfer pick-up point is for your return transfer to ferry port after free time.
