Tour description

This tour is tailored for families with children to get the most out of their visitĀ to both our medieval Old Town and the beautiful city outskirts.

This tour is designed to entertain and educate your young explorers with fun filled facts and fascinatingĀ stories and legends about Old TallinnĀ and the surrounding area. Tour activity options and a flexible schedule to suit your preferences make for an experience that both kids and parents will enjoy.

Your guide will take you on a journey from cruise port or hotel to the medieval fairy-tale land with winding cobble-stone streets, red tile roofs and ancient towers. Our first stop on Toompea hillĀ offers aĀ magnificent panoramic viewĀ of the surrounding lower city which unfolds like a picture book before your eyes. As you stroll along the maze of cobblestone streets, see and hear stories about the amazing buildings and towers that have been standing here for several hundred years.

A special treat for the smallest family members is a visit to theĀ Marzipan museum, where you can model and paint your own marzipan figurine to take home as a souvenir – OR – try your hand atĀ shooting a bow and arrowĀ just like they did in the old days. Ā A bit of free time in the Old Town will allow you to grab a bite to eat and perhaps do some shopping.

The tour continues with a drive to theĀ Kadriorg quarterĀ where idyllic wooden houses are intermingled with stunning baroque architecture. A walk in the surrounding park reveals Kadriorg Palace, the summer home of Czar, Peter the Great, the uniquely designedĀ KUMU Art MuseumĀ and ourĀ Presidential Palace. We will then drive to see the huge acoustic bandshell where every 5 years, Estonian choirs from all over the world gather and continue the tradition of holding massive song festivals. Our final stop before returning to the cruise port or hotel is the Pirita seaside area, home to the 1980Ā Olympic sailing eventsĀ and the famousĀ Pirita beachĀ where many of the locals enjoy swimming in the summer.
